In August of 2009 Ted Cahall became the Executive Vice President and CTO of AOL in preparation for their spin-out as a public company. He was also appointed to Virginia's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Investment Authority. In January of 2009, Ted Cahall was promoted to President of AOL's Products and Technologies. He added AOL E-Mail, Toolbar, Mobile, Truveo, and the AOL Desktop Client to his previous responsibilities. In July 2007, Ted Cahall added AOL's Technologies Division to his previous responsibilities. He continued to manage the Platforms Business Unit. In January of 2007, Ted Cahall was hired as the EVP of AOL's Platforms Business Unit. This included full P&L responsibility for Search, MapQuest, six commerce channels, Relegence, and global publishing. In August of 2005, Ted Cahall was hired as the EVP/COO of United Online's social networking, hosting, and photo sharing properties. In January of 2000, Ted Cahall was hired as the CIO of CNET Networks as was responsible for all of the web properties, ad systems, data warehouse, and back office systems.
