Ted Cahall is actively involved in several community groups in the Northern Virginia and Greater Washington DC regions. He sits on the boards of the Virginia Innovation and Entrepreneurship Investment Authority (IEIA), the Northern Virginia Technology Council and the Greater Washington Board of Trade to help further the causes of Technology and Commerce for both AOL and the region. Ted also spends time on the boards of two DC area non-profit organizations: Year-Up DC, and Network for Good.

Ted Cahall is also an active supporter of a number of social causes and charities. A number of his favorite past and present charities are listed below including Loyola Academy, the Jesuit College Preparatory School where he attended high school.
